The history of S.P.L.A.T

S.P.L.A.T had its beginnings in 1998, when Plancake, Berklesnort, Caverick and Captain Grumpy played Delta Force.

This appreciation of tactical, co-operative combat continued into Operation Flashpoint in 2007 and 2008. The seemingly endless battlespace, driveable vehicles and more realistic environments brought new enthusiasm and opened up the gaming goodness to a much larger group.

Gaming together died out in mid 2008 as the group was hit by a force more terrible than even OPFOR: real life. Time and monetary constraints, kids and a move toward more "twitchy" games, made the group fade and die.

Years passed, but the memory of those good times remained. And in October 2011 when a Steam Sale brought the cost of ArmA II within reach, some emails prodded us into action. S.P.L.A.T regrouped.

Since then we've fought our way across Chenarus and Takistan in the name of freedom, democracy, and fun. We've bumbled our way though learning curves, welcomed new friends, dragged each other out of the fire, and produced some moments so movie-like we thought they were worth writing up.

As we fight our way through Stratis, Altis, Tanoa and into the infinite we hope you enjoy our adventures, and our ability to both win and fail with a laugh.
